We Will Put The Smile Back On Your Face

Gaps in your smile—or total tooth loss—take away your ability to really enjoy life. Not only do you need teeth to eat, speak, and smile, but with one or more teeth gone, many end up hiding more than just their smiles. While losing teeth can be devastating, our dentures in Colorado Springs can give you back the function, beauty, and confidence you’ve lost. They are artificial teeth that can replace multiple consecutive teeth, up to and including both arches. They’re made to look like your natural teeth while supporting your cheeks and lips so the face muscles don’t sag and make you look older. Using cutting-edge materials and technology, modern dentures are the most realistic and customizable options yet.

Dr. Doug Olson has restored many happy smiles in Colorado Springs, CO. With 15 years in practice and training from the prestigious Spear Education Institute, he can provide a variety of options, including complete, partial (partials), and implant supported dentures. Dedicated to building a relationship with you based on honesty and trust, Dr. Olson will always recommend the right solution for you, not something you don’t want or need.

Complete Dentures

We can create and fit a conventional complete denture for you within just two or more appointments. If you have one or more unhealthy teeth that need to be extracted, we offer tooth extractions in-house for your convenience. Once your gums have healed, we’ll fit you with your new smile. If your upper arch needs a restoration, you’ll receive an upper denture that’s designed to cover the roof of the mouth and rest against your gums, so it stays in place.

A lower denture is molded in the shape of a horseshoe to allow room for your tongue and muscle attachments. Your tongue and cheek muscles help to hold this lower denture in place. With your preferences in mind, we’ll create dentures that not only fit and function properly, but we’ll also craft them in a way that the shape, size, and color offers a beautiful and confident smile.

Dentures and Partial Dentures Services

Partial Dentures

Removable partial dentures are like bridges because they’re sets of artificial crowns in a row. While a partials are removable, a bridge is permanently cemented in place. A partial is positioned on special plastic or metal bases that correspond to the color of your gums. Partials typically have a type of clasp that attaches to your healthy teeth and keeps the denture in place. We may recommend putting crowns on the healthy teeth to enhance their strength and give the denture a better fit in your mouth.

Implant Supported Dentures

Dr. Olson can also attach dentures to dental implants, which are posts that are surgically placed in the upper and lower jaw to make they are more stable and secure and to reduce jawbone loss. Many of our patients find that implant supported dentures are actually more comfortable and secure than conventional ones. Dr. Olson can determine if you have enough bone to support the implants. If not, he can rebuild the bone through bone grafting! If you prefer dental implants over dentures, you can get anywhere from one implant to full mouth dental implants if needed.

Maintaining Oral Hygiene

Maintaining proper oral hygiene is paramount when it comes to preserving your natural teeth. At My Dental Company, we are committed to helping our patients maintain healthy, beautiful smiles that last a lifetime. By following simple yet effective oral hygiene practices and receiving regular dental care, you can significantly reduce the risk of tooth loss and the need for dentures.

Brushing and Flossing:

A cornerstone of good oral hygiene is brushing your teeth at least twice a day and flossing once daily. Use a soft-bristle toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste to gently clean all surfaces of your teeth. Pay special attention to the gumline and the hard-to-reach areas between teeth. Flossing helps remove plaque and food particles from between teeth and along the gumline, preventing decay and gum disease.

Proper Technique:

Proper brushing technique is crucial for effective plaque removal. Hold your toothbrush at a 45-degree angle to your gums and use gentle, circular motions. Brush for at least two minutes, ensuring you clean all tooth surfaces. Don’t forget to brush your tongue to remove bacteria and freshen your breath. When flossing, gently guide the floss between each tooth, making a C shape around the tooth and moving it up and down to remove plaque and debris.

Balanced Diet:

Maintaining a balanced diet plays a vital role in oral health. Limit sugary and acidic foods and beverages, as they contribute to tooth decay and erosion. Instead, choose a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and dairy products, as they provide essential nutrients for strong teeth and gums. Drinking plenty of water throughout the day helps wash away food particles and keeps your mouth hydrated, reducing the risk of decay and dry mouth.

Regular Dental Check-ups:

Regular dental check-ups are essential for preventing dental problems and catching any issues early on. Schedule routine visits with your dentist every six months, or as recommended. During these visits, your dentist will perform a comprehensive examination, including professional teeth cleaning, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Regular check-ups allow your dentist to identify and address any potential issues before they progress and lead to tooth loss.

By prioritizing consistent oral hygiene practices, adopting a balanced diet, and seeking regular professional dental care, you can significantly reduce the risk of tooth loss and increase oral health. At My Dental Company, we are committed to partnering with you on your journey towards optimal oral health. Embrace a lifetime of natural teeth, a captivating smile, and the confidence that comes with maintaining excellent dental hygiene. Contact us today to schedule an appointment and take the first step towards preserving your natural teeth for years to come.
